Newbaby.com Connects Moms and Technology
Newbaby.com approached MVI in the fall of 2007 as an existing web presence with the need to upgrade to the latest technology available. The objective was to develop a website primarily for video consumption meanwhile allowing mothers to connect through an online community which we call “Mom’s Corner”. MVI worked side by side with early motherhood experts to develop a user friendly, functionally sound, product that is most beneficial to its target audience. One of our foremost elements of newbaby.com is the ability to create a “wallet” of videos that members and non-members can email to friends, create an MRSS feed or create a widget capable of being transferred to multiple locations around the net. Some of the website’s features include expert videos, articles and an interactive web cam for real-time video upload. The website also offers community interaction features with all the latest user tools which include: member profiles, blogs, photo galleries and news in an online environment which allows mothers to connect via web technology. The extensive feature list cannot be summarized but only experienced here at www.newbaby.com.

MVI moves to Fedora Core 8 for dedicated servers
For years MVI has been using a customized base version of Redhat Linux 9 as their operating system for their dedicated servers. With the evolution of server hardware since the release of Redhat 9, newer hardware became harder and harder to find drivers for. There was a need for a new base system which could support new functionality and new hardware. That's when MVI started looking at Fedora Core 8 as its next possible operating system. After quite a bit a testing and customization, MVI is proud to announce that from now on, all of its new dedicated servers will be using a customized version of Fedora Core 8. This will allow our dedicated server customers to be able to take advantage of the latest, state-of-the-art hardware and software available for Linux-based platforms out on the market.

Healthocrates- Accurate Medical Information- Wiki Style
Healthocrates approached MVI in mid 2007. They had a problem and needed a solution. It started with a man that had a rare medical condition and couldn’t find the treatment he needed. He eventually found it by communicating with someone on a message board. Our customer realized the need for such a service, but realized there should be one site that everyone could go to. We realized the ‘user submitted’ format of wiki type sites could keep information up to the minute. We put an extra submission step in the submission process to ensure the information was accurate and of good quality. Healthocrates boasts video content placed into our articles as well, a feature not currently available on Wikipedia. Today the number of Healthocrates users continues to grow exponentially, making it one of the most actively used sites in the MVI family.

MVI Implements Clustering Solution
One of MVI's biggest hosting customers (Simpedia Networks - www.ecampusrecruiter.com) recently realized the need for a more advanced solution for their multi-server application. Originally when their site was launched (www.ecampusrecruiter.com) it was hosted on MVI's top-notch, redundant, shared hosting environment. However, their business and throughput needs grew so fast that they were soon on their own dedicated server. In a short span of time, they even outgrew their dedicated server and started requiring multiple servers which forced them to split their application amongst different domain names. Ever growing, Simpedia recently consulted with MVI to have a clustering implementation engineered and put into place. MVI is currently in the process of implementing this clustering solution and is set to have it ready by the end of the summer. With technologies such as load-balancing equipment, centralized storage systems and replicated database, this hosting implementation is the most complex that MVI has ever attempted to put together. MVI hopes that their new found experience and skill in this area will attract other customers looking for similar configurations.

When Integrity Leads needed Sales Leads Management software
for their business they turned to the best. Through a series
of conferences and a comprehensive analysis, MVI learned
the details of Integrity Leads' business to give them the

MVI Develops Educational Software
Several months ago, MVI was contacted by an organization
with a unique purpose. This organization, known as Hi Tek
Learning System, was a government funded program which offered
education to under privileged children. Their primary focus
was in providing basics of aviation to children who otherwise
wouldn’t normally be exposed to that type of training.
MVI was brought in because the need for a scalable, robust
web-based application seemed more necessary than ever before.
Hi Tek was expanding into multiple states. With that growth,
the management of the information flow became key. MVI spent
the next several months designing a complete management
suite that would allow Hi Tek the flexibility to expand
and manage their organization at a level which they previously
could not.
Included in this system are:
• Trouble ticket system
• Calendar of events
• Automated student attendance
• Site management
• Complete automated user generation
• Student management
• Goal management
• And many more…
MVI’s purpose and goals for this application were
to allow for the many user levels to operate independently
in an efficient manner without needing much education. We
feel that this type of application could cross over into
any education-based organization. The ability to manage
not only students and their information, but the administrative
staff provides a level of functionality not often seen in
commercial applications.

Latin Pop Sensation Donato Poveda chooses MVI’S for
Full Content Management and E-Commerce Website. The name
Donato Poveda might not be familiar to everyone in the United
States, but he is one of the biggest stars in Latin America.
He was famous in the duo Donato y Estefano, and shortly
after launching his solo career he was nominated for Best
Latin Pop Album at this year's Grammy Awards.
Poveda is a talented artist who works hard at his craft
and has a busy schedule. Of course, this leaves him little
time for (or interest in) learning how to program a website.
That's why when he was looking to get a website done, he
needed one that allowed him to easily change his site content
anytime he needed to, but of course he didn't want to have
to learn HTML or website programming. After he learned about
MVI's Content Management System, he decided it was right
for him.
The process of completing the site was straightforward.
Poveda met with MVI and decided on a basic design theme.
After viewing a few samples, he chose one he liked. That's
pretty much all he had to do! MVI's programmers then built
a system that allowed Poveda to change his content whenever
he needed to.
The Content Management System, built in PHP and MySQL,
allows Poveda to login to his site at any time. He can add
or delete pages, change the navigation of his site, or change
the content of any page. He can change fonts, make certain
items italicized or bold - any highlighting effect you can
think of.
He uses the Content Management System primarily to make
sure his website has the latest information about his tour
schedule, to post news about himself and his music, and
to list song lyrics and other information of interest to
fans. By keeping his content fresh, he attracts more repeat
visits to his site from his fans. As befitting an international
nature of his audience star, the site provides content in
both English and Spanish.
If you go to Poveda's site and spend a little time reading
about him, there's a good chance you'll want to go out and
buy his music. But why go out when you can order his music
right from the site? Just click on the Store link and you'll
go to the e-commerce shopping cart section of his site.
Like the rest of the site, the e-commerce portion can be
fully managed by Poveda. He can add or delete products,
change pricing, or update descriptions whenever he wants.
The most striking features of the system are its completeness
and ease of use. Literally any page of the site can be changed
using the management system, and running the site is about
as easy as using Microsoft Word.
If you want to learn about a great musical talent, go to
donatopoveda.com and see for yourself. And if you want to
learn about a great Content Management and e-commerce system,
call 877.633.9536 and learn from one of MVI's specialists
just how easy it is.

MVI Completes Web Training Program for Miami Dolphins
The NFL powerhouse Miami Dolphins are merciless to their
opponents on the football filed, but when it comes to giving
back to the community, they're all heart. The organization
uses its powerful image in South Florida to support a variety
of good causes.
Recently the Dolphins teamed up with MVI to put out a web-based
application to help young people improve their scores on
the FCAT, an achievement test given to all Florida students
to measure their progress at various stages of their education.
MVI started with its powerful PHP web-based training application
designed for businesses, and modified it to create a more
youth-friendly look and feel. The session starts off with
an entertaining video featuring TD, the Dolphins team mascot.
The students are then led into a series of questions that
resemble the kind they would actually receive on the test.
Upon completing the test successfully, the student receives
a certificate of achievement.
The educational software was designed with maximum flexibility
to allow for individualized student-teacher interaction.
For example, teachers can set the difficulty level of the
questions as appropriate for the student. In addition, the
instructor can adjust the relative proportions of verbal
versus mathematic questions depending on where each individual
student needs more practice.
Since the application is on the Internet, the student can
take the practice tests at any time and at any location.
The program automatically scores the test and keeps the
results online for the teacher to review at any time.
One unique twist to this program is that the system comes
to the instructor with hundreds of prepared math and verbal
questions in it; the subject of the questions is usually
information about the Dolphins team and players. Since this
content is of more interest to many students than typical
textbook questions, they are more enthusiastic about using
the software and practicing their skills. Of course, if
desired, the instructor can add additional questions to
the ones that come with the application.
MVI's web training software wasn't originally designed
for kids - but with a little imagination on the part of
the Dolphins and a little work on the part of MVI's programmers,
the flexible system was quickly adopted into a tool that
makes a difference.
