As a retired veteran of the cleaning products
industry, Howard Hurwitz decided he wanted to get back into the game of selling, so he signed deals with
manufacturers and distributors of the best products on the market and then gave MVI Solutions a call. The
difference this time though was that he wanted his entire business to be web-based. Before we
started any work for Howard we first took the time to understand what he wanted to accomplish. We asked
him questions about his business plan, products, and target markets. We also asked him how his products
were sold in stores and through distributors and brainstormed with him on how to we could help him give
the same type of information to his customers. It was also important for us to understand how his
products would be ordered and shipped and how he would interact with manufacturers and customers. This
information allowed us to craft a public web site solution along with the administrative power on the
back end of his site that helped him manage his orders, inventory, pricing, tracking, and more. After
our business review was completed, we prepared a plan for development and promotion, received his approval
and begin the process of development.
Atmosphere Products needed to work with two teams within
MediaVue. First he needed a powerful and easy to manage web site with a high-end shopping cart
application. Secondly he wanted to be at the top of the list in search engines for the products he sell.
Our development team began to understand his needs and goals and developed a dynamic site,
integrated with an industrial strength shopping cart. Because the distributors he used provided their
product lists on a database, he needed to be able to easily import the products on a regular basis and
then be able to set his prices. All of that was rapidly developed and deployed by the Web Site Services
team to his exacting specifications.
Next we asked the site promotion team to get busy optimizing
his site for the search engines and then to begin promotion. We used all of our tools to help his site
rapidly climb to the top of the rankings. Within months he was ranking at our near the top of the results
for searches on the cleaning supplies he offers and had far surpassed his revenue goals. The more work
our team does the greater his success and in March of 2002
Atmosphere Products doubled their revenues
from the previous month.
